Church Business Meeting

Tonight at 6 p.m. we will have a church business meeting in the sanctuary. We are inviting everyone to take part in this meeting, which will help to set the course for the next two years at Parkway. I will be presenting the vision for the next two years coming from my perspective and from the Church and Pastor's Council.

A financial update report will be given by our treasurer, John Griffis. Members will be asked to vote concerning three specific two-year projects:

1) Renovation of our educational wing to provide a large, multi-purpose room
2) Tech and media upgrades for all areas of our facility
3) The funding of a part-time children's pastor and an increase to our children's budget

We need you! We need your input, your questions, and your participation as we discern God's will together. Please join us this evening as we seek God together concerning His plans and purposes for this congregation. Thank you!

Pastor Philip C. Morris, Jr.

Calendar:
1) Next Sunday: BE. DO. GO. Commitment Sunday
2) REGISTER TO VOTE! Deadline for voter registration is tomorrow! Please get a voter registration form in the lobby today and fill it out. We will even turn it in for you if you need us to!

Benson and Cathy Vaughn

For many years our congregation has helped to support our missionary educators at the European Theological Seminary in Kniebis, Germany. Benson and Cathy Vaughan are beginning their twelfth year of service in making disciples that will impact Europe and the world for Jesus Christ. This is not possible without the faithful prayers and financial partnership of supporting churches and individuals. Today, during our offering time, we will watch a short video report from Benson and Cathy describing what God has been doing in their part of the world during this last year.

As you may remember, my parents (Philip and Mary Morris) served for fourteen years in this same ministry. When they left Europe in 1996, Dr. John Sims (our own Anna Huskey's brother, who served from 1996 to 2004) replaced my father as the President of the school. However, there was a desperate need for someone to lead the students in music ministry, which had been the role my mother had filled for many years. Who knew that the Lord would raise up one of her own students (Benson) from her previous years teaching at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore to fulfill the calling to equip worship leaders from all over the world in her stead?

Benson and Cathy have the opportunity to disciple students we may never meet in this life, but we can join in their blessing as we partner to send them back to Europe for another year of discipleship and ministry. You can give to their ministry at any time -- just make your check payable to Parkway Church of God and note "Benson and Cathy Vaughan" on your check or envelope. If you would prefer, you may use their Church of God World Missions Project Number: 065-0138. All monies designated in either of these ways will go directly to their ministry account. Thank you for partnering in prayer and finances with the Vaughans!
